You may find it odd that fish is a staple for most people living along the coastal lines. In fact, a meal without fish is not complete, for most of them. These people do so for some good reasons. Yes, seafood, especially fish, is touted as being healthy, and there is no argument to the contrary. Among others, the health benefits of eating food include the following:

Cardiovascular health: Have you not heard that fish is packed with omega-3 fatty acids? Did you know that these acids fight bad cholesterol in the body and prevent narrowing of your blood vessels? Widened blood vessels and reduced levels of bad cholesterol are essential for a healthy heart. They lower the chances of stroke and heart attack.

A good Source of vitamin D: Low levels of vitamin D is a common problem affecting many people around the world. According to the basic biology, vitamin D is essential in calcium absorption. Calcium keeps your bones strong, normal, and healthy. If your body does not get enough vitamin D, you are likely to duffer from related conditions, such as rickets and osteoporosis.

Studies also reveal that people who eat fish have better concentration. The cases of mental disorders such as depression, anxiety, and stress are also rare among people who eat fish regularly.
